Streetery Food Hall, JLT
January 26, 2020 | 4years | Not to miss
Streetery, the quirky and highly-reputed food hall in JLT has been causing a huge stir on social media ever since it opened this time last year.
The concept is simple. Take the hawker market setup from South East Asia with street kitchen stalls from China, Singapore and Hong Kong which you can order individual dishes from, and implant it squarely into one of the most concentrated yet diverse foodie areas in Dubai, JLT.... Sounds a simple concept, yet one that has not been done to great effect before in Dubai....until now!
In short, Fat Aunt’s is from Singapore and focusses predominantly on curries and dim sum such as Szechuan spicy style dumplings ?? or wontons, scallion pancakes, Malaysian-style roti canai & sambal prawns ??. Hing Kee from Hong Kong serves BBQ and roasted meats from the charcoal grill including Char sui beef, Sambal Seabass and the Famous dish Hainanese Chicken and rice ??. Finally, Zen is an authentic Asian kitchen serving up Thai and Chinese specialties all made from high pressure woks such as Kung Pao, Green Chilli stir fry, and Asian greens, all cooked to our spicy preference.
The only disappointing thing about the evening was that it has taken us a year to visit this place. We won’t be making that mistake again and we will be back regularly to try more dishes from the menu.
Reasonably priced, high quality, well-seasoned and lots of variety... Streetery is located in Cluster D, Jumeirah Lakes Towers.
