There are many ways to experience a Latino fiesta, but probably none better than a La Parilla brunch. Set on top (the 25th Floor) of the @jumeirahbh, La Parrilla provides a modern yet tradional Argentinian flavoured afternoon with picture perfect views out to seas and the @burjalarab
Los Entrantes (starters) feature Pan Tumaca (toasted Baguette with tomato sauce & pastrami), Huevos Rancheros (a mountain of fluffy scrambled eggs and hogao sauce), Beef, Chicken and Truffle Cheese empanada’s, Taquito de Pollo, Tuna Wasabi and a strangely textured but light and fully flavoured Asparagus Brûlé.
El Principal (Main Course) features La Parrillada, which is essentially a mixed grill of premium cuts of beef steak, chicken, octopus, scallops and prawns served on a plate with a sizzling BBQ that allows each table to unleash their inner chef and finish their meat and mixed seafood to the cooking temperature they prepare. It’s a novel but functional offering as all meat is brought out medium-rare, which is not to every guests liking, but also helps to keep the meat warm on the plate.
There is also a separate dish Lomo Saltado (Stir fried beef with veal jus) but we were far too stuffed with the meat from the grill to do it justice. Side portions of sautéed mushrooms, green salad and French fries all go down well but with a portion each per person it was wasted. One of each would be more than enough to satisfy.
A perfectly presented plate of desserts that include traditional churros, coconut bounty cake, raspberry mousse a chocolate tart and a colourful fruit platter give the meat feast a sweet ending.
Although the brunch was not busy by any stretch, the Romantic setting and unmissable views make up for the lack of patrons with an indescribably Latin atmosphere, punctuated by the band, the effervescent staff (from Argentina) and the interactive cooking element.
